Any predictions for the new year? Let's try and keep it upbeat (although it is easier to forecast doom!)

1) Blackberry will be gone by the end of the year.
2) The new grass in back garden will be dead.
3) UK house prices will go stop going up.

That's upbeat?

- Quins to make the play-offs and lose.
- Saints to finish 9th.
- Romanians / Bulgarians to be pretty good car-washers and nobody in England to even notice they're there.
- My golf handicap to not get below 20 now I've had a new swing handed to me.
- The Russian Winter Olympics to be a monumental political minefield and not about people sliding down tubes on tea-trays.
- The Christmas tree at Casa Del Scamp to get a re-design and to incorporate more than just white/silver.

what I can predict about the winter olympics is that some sports person from the LBGT community is going to make a huge statement while on air
like kissing or a pink thong or something outrageous like that and I know it would be hilarious

England won't win a game at the World cup.

I predict that I will not watch a single game

Qatar will pass it's first laws on becoming a dry state .

I'm with you on that one.

We've heard it's coming , it will be a trade off against the watering down of the sponsorship system and exit permit .

They'll chip away at it as regulation and constricting supply . It will be available by decree only , i.e WC 2022 .

I personally can't see it, all chinese whispers and nonsense like the fact QDC was closing down after national day. Qatar can't tempt people here as it is with alcohol. For a place that loves to shoot itself in the foot that would be akin to blowing their own heads off.

Toon won't win anything, nor will Saints, I'll get married (offers anyone)?, Android and Google will far surpass Apple (ie 2/1), Blackberry will merge/be bought by the likes of Huawawei (sp) or similar, in Q4 the cracks of the Dubai property boom will start to fracture ready for a Q1 crash, Abu Dhabi will bail Dubai out again, Etihad and Emirates will merge.
