Bog Man is an unknown quantity at this point

Including N Africa there's also possibly (depending on the definition) Western Sahara, Mauritania, Mali & Niger. And maybe Chad, Sudan. Only worked Niger myself but they would all probably push anything after Algeria off that original list.

Millhouse - your friends are "running the airport"?! wow. I don't think they should admit that in public! It's awful! even the new one!
What's wrong with the new airport? I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was. Only opened a few months back.

Some people are never happy - I actually priced the (winning) bid and raised the financing of the new terminal. Bloody marvelous it is too.

Unless you went through QAIA in 2006 you have no idea how miserable it was to start with!

lol - yeah it is miles better than QAIA (hellhole, especially if the airline changes terminal AFTER you have gone through security), but was also there for pain of opening week....

nope - not been to south Lebanon recently, just Beirut

In fairness the opening week is always going to be tough. Almost no airport in the world opens a new terminal as a big bang without issues. T5 is a classic example.

Airports (and processes) normally evolve - they don't just appear. You'll find most of the issues are around security and immigration which are government run. The airport operator isn't allowed to touch them.

When they lose your baggage, and pack you in a tiny gate without food that's the operator...

Not for us any more - two aborted landings at Bahrain, followed by a **** we;ve run out of fuel gotta dash to saudi arabia before we attempt this one again, then landing at Bahrain (having all of us on the plane missed our onwards connections by this stage which go once per day) with fire trucks and ambulances chasing us down the runway. nope. not again.
22 hours in Bahrain airport hotel = hell.
