Its the time spent generating the pile of paper is the issue, it detracts from the focus of the project team which should be to build the bloody thing. A task hard enough to co-ordinate without having to engage in contractual letter writing.
Anyhow I wonder will it get built, we are fast approaching tower of babel shit in KSA. Wonder why they picked Kingdom tower as there is one Kingdom tower in Riyadh already. (the big Eye of Mordor looking thing).

So what made the Saudis choose British firms as opposed to Samsung (Burj Khalifa)? Embrassing to choose S.Koreans / same builder as Dubai?

Samsung/Arabtec/Besix were the contractors for the Khalifa. Bin Ladin are the contractors for the Kingdom tower.
Oh, and BL have a stake in the client organization set up to deliver it.
So Mace are representing Bin Ladin and others to oversee....Bin Ladin.
