"This is how hot it is in Saudi"
I remember once (in AD) I ran to the shoreline without footwear not realizing how bloody hot the sand was going to be . Once I started running I was too far from the shade to turn back and the water was still too far and my soles were baking.

I once burned the soles of my feet in Bournemouth walking around barefoot, hatefully painful.
