I remember once (in AD) I ran to the shoreline without footwear not realizing how bloody hot the sand was going to be . Once I started running I was too far from the shade to turn back and the water was still too far and my soles were baking.

I would love to visit some of the Scottish islands, unfortunately though, Bournemouth used to be down the road so won on convenience!

I've scolded the soles of my feet when walking barefoot around Atlantis water theme park....never gonna do that again!
