Re: How did Emirates manage this?
A neighbour of mine a pilot with EK now has to fly more each month for the same package - effectively a pay decrease... But hey this is DBX so everything is OK!

Re: How did Emirates manage this?
Well it is a well known fact that EK have a big problem with the Pilots and there basic T&C's
as emirates seem to keep on changing the goal posts as and when they feel like it.
Its nice to see they will order more new shiney aircraft BUT !!!where are they going to find the pilots to fly them.
Word is already on the street that DO NOT Come to Dubai if you are a pilot.
A lot of the pilots already there are working a lot more hours than this time 18months ago.
A lot of them are tired living a perminate jet lag,
I am sorry to say it is only a matter of time before they have another accident, this time it may not be as lucky as the Melbourne , Manchester flights.

Re: How did Emirates manage this?
Yes maybe from Al Ain but they will only be a first officer if they are lucky.
They need highly exp captains. from a basic first office to a captain could take any thing from 7-8 years min.
Also a newly arrived first officer is now on the same pay & t nc 's as a first officer that has been with EK for 3 years or more.
The troops are not happy.

A lot of the f/o's in EK are highly exprienced Captains who have come from other airlines and I'm sure when they eventually realise they are short of Captains they will again reduce the requirements needed for upgrade - at one time it was only 18 months for suitably qualified and experienced people
