yep, that's the one...it is very very good...great wine list as well, and a sommelier who actually knows what he's talking about...

The Crowne Plaza Yas Island is nice..It has a great place to eat called Stills, roast beef & yorkshire pud brunch and a fantastic outside terraces..also not many people are travelling out there yet, so you practically have the place to yourselves.

Am guessing that, if MM really likes it, the room rates will be at least AED1,000 per night plus food.

hahaha, haven't stayed in the hotel, just think the whole area is fab...was raving about ushna, and think they have offers to suit even you lionheart, a thali lunch for 65 dhs (veggie) or 85 dhs, both including a glass of wine or soft drink...now that can't be bad...

I actually like the lobby bar in the shangri la.

Also in the traders, there is a nice beach where they have all inclusive beach parties..

AD is the new Dubai

Ushna is great.

As for the wider souq area though, I find it a bit weird. It's like a failed Madinate Jumeriah - The shopping area is a bit of a white elephant (I guess until the local population builds up anyway).
