Correct. The Al Raha was nice, until they decided to reclaim land right in front of it... it's now an open sewer too

Have a look at the website and see what you think. If you decide on this one make sure you ask for a room away from the nightclub!
the missus stayed there a while ago and said it was a bit shit.

Only when I come along for Rotana hotels, and I'm afraid I am not available on that date..

You could try availability for the friends rate in the Fairmont, I believe I've PM'd you about that one as well.. Has been extended until March

spugsy...the shangri la at the souk qaryat al beri sounds like what you're looking for...nice beach, although small, overlooks the mosque...and loads of restaurants and bars on tap...

went to ushna there yesterday and it is gorgeous...has the biggest range of vodka cocktails i've ever seen...and a fab brunch offer if you're there on friday...

MM, xx

Yes - totally agree. I suggested the One to One as it's not too far from town and the price isn't too bad but if you want shopping and beach the Hilton at the top of the Corniche is probably worth considering (or the Emirates Palace if you have a very healthy wallet or credit card!) Agree with EmiratesMillhouse about the Village Garden at One to One- always seems like a cafeteria full of first time expats who think it's great as they can bring their kids along too - bad service too. Wokano is a good restaurant though. Don't forget to let us have a review of where you do decide to stay!

Love the Intercon Marina - it's less hectic than most places in Abu Dhabi and the beach is good.

Spugs, Drop us a line regarding renting kayaks. I can give you the number of the guys who I help out a couple of times a week.
Check out my Facebook pictures of the kayaks

I agree with MM, Shangra La is great. There are numerous restaurants and bars and the Souq is a little walk or a golf cart ride away where there are more amenities.

Is that the Indian restaurant?

I love the Souq. Right on me doorstep.
