Horrible Bosses
Couldn't agree more with this article
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...t-phrases.html
My old boss used to say 50 times a day, "Have you spoke with him? Have you touched base with all of your clients?" Hugely frustrating
What winds you up at work..?

Re: Horrible Bosses
I really don't see what's wrong with the phrase 'going forward' and why it seems to annoy people so much - it's simply appropriate English usage as an alternative to 'from now on'. It's hardly 'engineering a dynamic infrastructure'
And I think the people coming in when ill thing is totally unfair - I'm sure anyone who has worked in an office will be aware that the people who b*tch about people 'spreading their germs' will be the first to be snidy about anyone who stays off when they 'only have a cold'.

Folk that arrive late, do stuff all all day, then start sending a barrage of emails after 7pm just to highlight the fact they're still working, whilst us more efficient folk have completed a days work, within work hours and are happily tucking into pint 2 of the evening!

Because unless you've invented time travel you only go forwards. What irks me are those who use it in every other sentence and one 'boss' in particular who managed to say it 3 times in a single sentence! Yea gods & little fishes!

There was one woman I worked with who never told us what she was doing. I was forever having to tell her to touch base with her clients and check to see if she had spoken with people. Thankfully, she moved to Doha.
