a very good way for a male criminal to avoid arrest. I'm guessing police have to be very careful with women in abayas and I cannot think of a single occassion where I have seen a female police officer on the streets of Dubai.

hmmmmmmm...I think I have seen women police officers...in Global village if I remember correctly...(or maybe they were more security types wearing a police like outfit...) One of them told my mother in law not to stand in the 'male' part of the audience at a show there...
