Re: Google +
I've had a couple of invites from this, personally I am a facebook fan, best way for staying in touch with those at home but I have noticed alot of people are using it less and have moved over to twitter more, I now use linked in for work purposes whereas I used to use facebook for this so is now better so I can keep a better seperation between the two. I can't be arsed to join another social network as feel I get what I need form the ones I am using. Twitter I don't use much here as im not networking as Im networking slightly differently here.

I dream of a day where I can do all my socalising without ever having to leave the security of my toilet.
Seriously, I just don't get any of these online things - apart from LinkedIn, but that is for a totally different purpose.

Millhouse you're such an old man- I use facebook to stay in touch with friends and family, I use it as a photo album, email, a kind of diary, a birthday calander and twitter type update thing, as well as a networking tool, so I can just drop quick messages to friends my family can see what I am up to, I get reminded when its peoples birthdays and can also stay in touch with people a lot easier. I would never have enough time to send my more casual friends long emails or call them whereas I can stay in touch with quick one liners, or posts on their comments etc so when i need to pick up the relationship again its been continuously oiled. I guess it works better for my industry than say yours as mine is so visual, and more casual.
Twitter is a good networking tool however I think you have to be on the ball with it to make it worthwhile, so I have never really sued it to its best.

Quite a list of tools really..but I understand the whole idea of internet 2.0 is lost on the older generations..from the age of cc mail and telefax. I'm surprised I know so many elder statesmen and women who have finally learned to text in the 21st century.

Quite nifty, finding topics on the G+ Hangouts...someone has done a cooking class which was quite an interesting use of Hangouts and pretty nicely done apparently.

Re: Google +
You don't just have to use Twitter as a networking tool, most of my friends are on there and we use it for chat, reading news updates etc, it's what you make it

Re: Google +
yeah course it does, you just pick up your replies the next time you log in, I have a good laugh on there, I speak to Meow more there than I do here

Re: Google +
and on top of that, you can "fav" posts, so you can check them out later, which is a good way of dealing with news type stuff.

Was asking a friend about Google+ tonight, as I've no idea what its all about.
I am new to Twitter and tend to speak to total strangers or just stalk celebrities! I do find it really handy for breaking news.

I've been marking things as fav so that I can go back to them, especially if I've seen them on my phone and haven't got access to internet, its quite useful.
