Since it will be scrapped, why not just break it into manageable chunks whilst it is underwater then lift and haul off the chunks? I assume enviromental regulations is the answer this is a No No?

Is Italy really like that? Thought that was a former Soviet Bloc thing, as far as Europe goes.

Italy is not really different from the Soviet Bloc in terms of corruption, it's just the weather is more agreeable than sleet and sludge...
