Favourite Christmas song

I do however understand why you'd consider posting it as "takes precedence", you must be a nice man, I guess you see it as a sort of obituary.
Are we only worth something when we're dead?

I'm sure some of you will be waiting for me to post.
Actually I , BEVS , posted that up as my all time favourite Pica and if you look you will see I did that before any sad announcement. I actually didn't know he was battling cancer or that he had died 2 days after my post until I saw it on the Canada forum just now.
To me that song is totally brilliant , evocative and sings to my heart and soul. It has done for over 40 years . It lifted me up when I really needed that and still does after over 40+ years.
So . BS right back at you . it is in the eye of the beholder.

Yes Mikelincs I was aware. I just get tired of the lauding of "artistes" only after they die. This wasn't a wonderful piece of work.

I was on a train last night from London Bridge to East Croydon with the whole carriage singing Fairytale of New York led by a beautiful and very tanked up Geordie girl.
It was beautiful.
"Happy Xmas your 4rse, pray God it's the last."

I guess that is only true if you did not know and appreciate the artist during their lifetime. Greg Lake's work with King Crimson (in particular the tracks 21st Century Schitzoid Man and Epitaph) and some of his ELP stuff far outweighs the well-composed but comparativly lightweight Christmas song as far as I am concerned.
Apologies if I've offended anyone
