Favourite Christmas song
My vote is for "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town", but I do like "All I want for Christmas" by Mariah Curvy too.

That Mariah is a bit three sheets, isn't it.
Like the song though, although have a soft spot for Pogues/Kirsty McCall - Fairytale of New York.

Fairytale of New York, but Driving Home for Christmas in the hire car on the way from Heathrow is a must.

Re: Favourite Christmas song
Before I moved out here I always used to get fed up with all the Christmas songs way before the day itself finally rolled round, but now I'm only exposed to them for a few days I find I actually like quite a few of them again!
My favourites have already been mentioned, but I do also quite like listening to Mary's Boy Child.

Fairytale of New York, despite being massively overplayed in Ireland still holds up.
Honourable mention to driving Home for Christmas, Last Christmas for cheesiness, the live aid song, the theme from the snowman with Aled Jones, and Baby It's Cold Outside with Tom Jones
Also if you can find it there is an album of rat pack Christmas songs that puts you in the mood of martinis and general Christmas schlepping about drink in hand

Re: Favourite Christmas song
Surely everyone knows that THE Christmas song is Merry Christmas Everybody by Slade?
Incidentally there is a Facebook page called 'Slade are for life - not just for Christmas' which amuses me.
I also like Eartha Kitt's Santa Baby, Bruce Springsteen with Santa Claus is Coming to Town and Chris Rea's Driving Home for Christmas.
Mariah Carey is like a singing dog whistle and if anyone plays Mistletoe and Whine (sic) in earshot I reserve the right to strangle them with tinsel.

Yup Pogues/Kirsty McCall - Fairytale of New York.
I've heard it so many times yet still like it.

Im surprised no one has mentioned Ol' Bing Crossby or Dean Martin (or am I really that old at 46 !!)
I remember coming from Birmingham to London drunk with my manager when I first started working and we were singing Dean martin !
