I think a majority of Brits still like the monarchy.. last time I looked at the polls.. about two-thirds majority. Can't see a referendum on that issue in my lifetime.
By the way, the most stable countries of Europe are the Northern European nations with constitutional monarchies e.g., UK, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and The Netherlands.
