Emirates have a 17inch width compared to 18.5 on airlines like Cathay and even British Airways has 17.5 on their 777's

I prefer to take an aisle seat. on Emirates the aisles are so narrow that people have trouble walking down them without knocking passengers in those seats. the trolley's for food/drinks barely pass down them.

I'm not sure I've ever noticed any difference with how much you're hit when sat in the aisle seat though. It's normally a lot full stop. Worst was on Emirates though, trolley at full tilt straight on my knee whilst asleep.
