Jeez, Bahtatboy, this is straight out of the Daily Mail stable. All that's probably happened is that some well-meaning but naive council employee has made a SUGGESTION (the word is even used in the piece) and the next thing we've got the usual people jumping up and down saying Christmas is banned, FFS.

Swimming lessons in some Staffordshire schools should stop during Ramadan to ensure Muslim pupils "do not swallow water", a council has suggested.

When I went to school in Abu-Dhabi, I recal the Muslim classmates drinking water to quench their thirst and saying that liquids to quench one's thirst was ok. We are talking early to mid teens here. Drinking out in public was a no no unless the person was elderly, ill, pregnant or a little kid.

Who would want to drink out of a pool full of kids anyway? They all pee in it..... yuck!

Fresh urine is sterile...and probably an aqquired taste. Still if you can drink fosters or Heineken a pool of pissy water will probably be an improvement!
