Why on earth do you leave the a/c running 24/7 in your bedrooms? The living room and kitchen I could possibly understand. Do you sleep all day and night?

I switch it on and off as needed, mainly to remove the humidity as I was finding that some things were becoming damp.

The air con in my office is on all the time at the highest setting, as the locals like it really cold. It's actually bloody freezing. Throughout last summer, I was wearing a singlet under my suit.

the coolness from the bedrooms is enough to chill the rest of the place, if it is on in the living room all the time it get's too cold.

I have to admit to having mine on 24/7 right through and I also have mine room controlled. Just wondering as when we lived in UK we also had our central heating on 24/7 but thermostatically controlled to keep the house at the same temp all day. Think I recall being told that in the long run it is more efficient to do that than to have it on for 3 hours in the morning and 3 hours at night as it uses more fuel to constantly have to heat back up from cold again???? Anyway thats my theory so I'm sticking to it

And were you wearing leg warmers and gloves too, my dear? Just trying to create a picture in my mind's eye

don't the Dean and Bison have jobs to go to?

out here we only use the A/C in our bedroom at night. Have tried to sleep using a fan only but then we have a bit of a noise and Mozzie problem.

In the living room we get by with a fac but I would like to install a ceiling fan. It may not get as hot as Dubai here but its damn humid and hot all year.

Doesnt that depend on what you set the central A/C at???

But a/cs are not air circulation, merely stale air flowing through big metal pipes; you'd be better of opening the windows if you want to get some fresh air!

True. I guess its "fresh" enough out in the open areas away from the construction sites though.... I am a Londoner, so a "bit" of pollution is not gonna faze me...what doesn't kill you, etc...
