Nope, never done the brunch yet. Those that I know who go are always in a group, which makes sense. Can't imagine a single or couple going, unless they're party types.
Though did go to Dubai's second 'best kept secret' this week (twice !)- a hotel with a large air-conditioned garden with shisha, drinks and mezze and Bohemian types - fantastic to sit outside (mid 20s) in the Dubai summer heat as if it was the Med.

I am actually quite looking forward to it...just not sure on what to wear, might go out and buy something new...
I survived almost 6 years without sampling the ultimate Dubai institute that is The Brunch, but Friday will change all that...and there's a few BE'ers to witness the event, which should be fun!

Oh I remember it vividly..I was 16 1/2, home alone recuperating from a car accident- Broken arm- My moms friend came over to give me a pie and while there my mom called from Florida so I covered the receiver and asked Elaine if she wants me to tell my mom she's here- she shook her head and mouthed "no"...I knew right then it was game on, and yes, I enjoyed the pie

I would love to have a first time story involving a billiards table, cues and racks of balls flying about at the pivotal moment.
But like most people it involved alcohol and groping around in the dark. I won't even claim the filly was that pretty. She did like me and she once contacted me out of the blue years later. But last I heard she married a London banker and is sitting prettily in an overpriced terrace house in Fulham, while I'm still in a crappy villa share in DXB.
