A very wise friend of mine gave me the following mantra which I tried to follow during my time of being self employed;
You can have things done cheaply, you can have things done well and you can have things done quickly. You can have two of these but never all three.

Classic email response moaning from the chap today; This man has 7 years experience. We have asked for a minimum of 5. He won't be considered for this role now.
I'm missing something here. My maths is reasonable and his profile is good, not amazing but solid. 7 is greater than 5.
