Curry Houses & Boozers

I didn't eat there, the Indian place had been recommended to me a few times, I was doing a favour for a friend so to say.

there are a few others as well such as Shake Shack which I thought was deplorable. There is a new Asian place in MOE that sells overpriced rice. There was one place in JLT that was that bad I refused to write a review about it, the owner didn't seem at all bothered when I pointed out the food was inedible.

The problems the guy behind the Kuwait based 248AM blog got imbroiled in suggest it's not the wisest move you can make to announce very publicly that you've had a duff meal.

Milk shakes, particularly chocolate milk shakes, are only any good if you dump about half out and replace it with brandy. Then milk shakes are much more entertaining....

exactly, and if I remember rightly he didn't go overboard with his review it just all got out of hand. If I hear about a restaurant that is a bit naff why on earth would I want to spend my cash on visiting it just so I could give my readers a bad review? Had a disappointing experience which I will be writing about next week.

for real Indian food you have to eat in Karama/Bur dubai, superb & well priced too - probably around half of what you'll pay in new Dubai.
it also depends on what sort of Indian food you like (South Indian, North etc).
For licensed Indians, I agree with Ushna at the Madinat, Indigo in Grosvenor House and the one which has won best Indian a few years with time Out which is in the 4 points sheraton in Bur Dubai (noisy & has dancers etc!)
