Well, from a previous thread, looks like Meow lived in an area that I used to drink around for the best part of 15 years!

So despite nobody in the poll voting for Downtown, we are all evidently going to Souq Al Bahar. So much for democracy at work. So where exactly in Souq Al Bahar are we going coz its full of drinking establishments I believe. Overlooking the fountain does sound awfully nice but wouldn't a pub atmosphere be more suitable? Anyway at least it's not too far from Bur Dubai.

Leftbank LH. Democracy at work is great if people actually agree on a decision. Sometimes you need to make a decision for them. With so many potential people in different areas, nobody would agree, hence, Leftbank is in the middle, nobody can complain. If we'd left it for people to throw around ideas, we'd be here next year planning it 12 months too late.

This lot will never be happy! Pick a date, pick a venue, tell them that's where it is. People who want to go will make the effort, people who don't would probably not have gone wherever it was!
Somewhere in the middle is probably a good idea so the Mirdiff lot don't get the hump, Irish Village too far the other way so everyone else will get the hump. So, how about Leftbank, Souq Al Bahar? there's food for those who will moan and say they want to eat first, drink for those who want it, chilled music for the people who don't like to party too much and it's not extortionately expensive.
Who's in 9th December 9pm onwards?

I'm not not coming out of spite, I just have to go be a good worker that night. Am sorry to be missing it!
(If work things wind down early, I may make a special appearance. Though you may all be too drunk by that stage to appreciate it )

Are you having a blonde moment? Of course I know that Souq Al Bahar is in the Downtown area, hence my question why go there when not a single person voted for it. I have never heard of Leftbank, though. It's evidently a bar, presumably somewhere in Souq Al Bahar but no idea where exactly. Can anybody enlighten me?
