Enjoy the holiday. Might want to stay away from Samet and the East coast for now, big oil slick. Thailand has been my home these last 16 years and I wouldn't live anywhere else, a weekend in Sin-galore is about all I can manage these days.

Bugger. I'm in Koh Samui and Phangan (sp?) for about 8 days.

I want to see pictures of women with ping pong balls please.

I don't think Samui is affected, nice this time of year, not too many tourists but it will rain. I lived a whole year on Samui. Pha-Ngan on certain days is somewhat worse than an oil slick!

I don't mind a bit of rain, in Vietnam last year it was amazing to be in proper, heavy, drenching rain.

Was on a transit from Phnom Penh through Bangkok last Sat and the plane was rammed. Not sure how accurate the 'not too busy this time of year' bit is.

I'm sure the Banyan Tree in Bangkok will be relatively calm
