True, but Communications 102 would tell you to makes sure to target your tailored message at the intended audience, otherwise it will likely be misconstrued, misunderstood and lost.

Outwith the context of where this message was meant to be used, and who it was meant to target, it could very easily be viewed as being offensive and insensitive.

How about: men should be held responsible for raping--no excuses taken, while advising women to take precaution at the same time? Does everyone agree with that?

exactly...men shouldn't rape...but 'they' do, so until that time it's up to women to protect themselves, until such time (never I guess) men are in control of their 'urges'...

in an ideal world women should be able to walk around naked, drunk, alone etc without having to worry about getting raped...in the meantime women have to be sensible about their behaviour, and that is not the same as saying if she is dressed in a short skirt, she is asking for it...

I believe this type of rape, where a woman is alone, drunk and maybe dressed 'sexy' walking down a dark alley, is not the most commom form of rape by the way...a lot of sexual agression/abuse takes place within marriages/long term relationsships where the whole 'she was asking for it' theory doesn't apply...
