Take line 1 from alexanderplatz to brandenburg gate, before 10 am and take the walking tour with the guys in the red shirts.
I took the spanish one, but i gues the english one is just as good. Good information.
Also line 1 from alexanderplatz is almost as a tour bus, it goes through a lot of historical places, museums and ends in brandemburg gate.
Even if you are not into museums, go to pergamum its awesome
if you stay close to a metro you are in!
Dont miss an evening in a beergarten and relax

Just a quick update - In all the places that I've visited in Asia/Europe - Berlin has been my favourite holiday destination so far. History, food, (13 Michelin starred restaurants) people, art, museums, music - the vast amount of things to do - Highly recommend. I stayed in the Hilton at Gedarmenmarkt in Mitte. Stunning area.
