And as to Kittycat's original question, have my life plans changed? Only so far as eking it (life, that is) out a bit longer.

I have also become accutely aware of hwo all my friends..well..the few I have, from my hometown..have all got married and pregant whilst i'm still getting drunk and having fun. This all happened by the time I had turned 20..which is 10 years ago.

I came across an interesting term though, for kids like me who grew up as an expat..Third Culture Kids..or TCK's if you're in on the TLA's. We are an odd bunch..we don't belong anywhere, but totally accustom ourselves to wherever..where we live is home. Its not quite accepted in the academic world yet, a few more books need to be published, but as an idea..I like it.

As far as 'taking a chance' goes..I never had the option..I was 4 when I first moved abroad..I had no choice..The first time I had a choice and said enough is enough..I was 17 and lived in the US...in the shitty part..I was duelly sent home and stayed for all of 2 years and finished high school.
