Saying that i paid 27 quid for a bottle of lager and a champagne cocktail in Claridges in London a few month ago ....Daylight robbery as they say !

I think that's what people forget here. If we only drunk in 5* hotels in London (Like we have to here) then the prices are comparable - If not sometimes cheaper in ME.

I never went back to Four Seasons either...............

A glass of Champagne here in most 5* hotels is about 120dhs ..30pounds.
Yet a bottle of Moet in a lot of London restaurants is between 50 and 60pounds.... but here it is about 130pounds!!

I definitely found it cheaper eating out in London than I do here, mostly because of the price of booze!

this thread has been brilliant!

I'm going back to the UK after living in Dubai for 5 months so I don't think I will be as used to the 'Dubai lifestyle' as others on here but I think it will be strange. Not looking forward to seeing the chavs and the cold weather and constantly telling people that yes you can drink in Dubai!

On the price of beer, yes it is expensive but as it has been said above we are always drinking in 5 star hotels etc not back alley pubs! the beer is expensive but the facilities are always good as well. you can go to the toilet and not be worried about what you are going to catch from just having a wee!

Just back from 2 weeks in the UK

****ing miserable place

There is a reason there is still a recession in the UK, it's because everyone is ****ing miserable all the ****ing time. Oh and everybody stops ****ing work at 5.30 or earlier. Man up and do some ****ing work UK.

Seriously, ask anyone here how it's going from we man recycling (stealing) rubbish to company director and pretty much everyone says ok or busy, worst case is picking up. In the UK though asking that question just results in a ****ing sob story every time.

Confidence and attitude is the difference, here people are willing to look on the bright side and take a chance or try hard. In the uk it seems half the country is collecting benefits while the other half at busy crying about that and everything else. **** em

Oh and
People drive really slowly
Everywhere is dirty
People all dress as though there is a national funeral everyday
Shops shut when people who have money finish work, that makes no sense at all

On the plus side snow was nice as was change but notes are overly large
