yes :) works brilliantly, how long for though is another matter but I have been using it for weeks now. I still download stuff though due to time difference.

I got it not long ago, download all my tunes and films onto my iPod touch - watch them in the cab on the way back from work then finish watching them on the big tv. It's brilliant.

Thanks.

I was told that the bbc iplayer app will not allow HDMI connections to the TV.

If this is the case, then I'll be buying an Apple TV thingy.

well, I'm assuming that the downloading is done via the ipad and streamed to the Apple TV?? or does the ipad instruct the Apple TV to do it?

Anyway, I use a DNS spoofer - no VPN here, so I'd just change its DNS settings.

If you have a VPN then simply switch it on, Apple TV will transmit bbc player etc quite happily

good to know. cheers.

Apple TV it is then. do you know if there is an advantage to getting one from the US?

Re: Apple TV

A bit of a moot point, but the ipad/mac/iphone goes via the router to the Apple TV rather than direct to the apple TV. Shite router = shite connection.

Itunes can also airplay from a normal PC/laptop aswell.

got mine via Jado Pado website, 300 dhs delivered the next day, was cheaper than UK if I remember rightly.

None whatsoever. However if your router thinks it's in the US, you'll get a much better selection of services (Netflix stands out, along with renting more recent movies). Hardware is the same regardless where you purchase.

routers are very cheap now. I bought two not long ago - 150dh a pop and they are brilliant.

The maid has her own - if she ever decides to revolt I can cut all her communications and keep mine alive, Mubarak style.

price not an issue its the pain of finding one that fulfills my needs and then finding it locally. i could always go into emax and ask but id rather take two bricks and slam them together with my nuts between them.

or i could shop and ship but then if it shite the return is a mare.

or i could just bitch on here instead of either working or fixing the problem

**** i need a holiday

Perfect router although a little dear.

I've just ordered one of those time capsules so I don't have to worry about backing up every other week. has the router built in so hoping it also fixes the problem of s not being able to use the interweb upstairs because of the shitty signal.

I got my Apple TV about 18 months ago. I think it was about £60 from Amazon.

Used it a lot and then stopped using it for some reason.

see thats the thing, I am entirely into wholesale, specifically laptops and tablets but since I am dealing in high volumes, any IT related stuff that is out there I can always get good prices. And since I am working with a very small staff, deliveries usually is tricky, specially uptown etc. And thats the reason I dont plug my website, the prices on which are usually almost always last week's

but for BE-ers, exceptions can be made

If it still doesn't reach upstairs with the time capsule, you could get an airport express too and use it to extend the signal from the main router (time capsule). Or if you've already got an extreme I'm sure you can use that to extend it.

Or just run a second router upstairs and link them.

We have three in Villa de la Millhouse. Two down, one up - running two seperate networks.
