I called Chammas in AD at the 4 in the arvo, trying to book for that night (I'm an optimist see).
After sounding initially ok (obviously a newbie) suddenly it was "No tables at all, fully booked". Would i like to go on waiting list?
After asking how long the waiting lost and giving the sob story regarding babysitters and friends from overseas we eventually got the table we wanted at 8pm, non smoking. It took over 20 minutes of full wheedling/ flirting/ BEGGING to happen and being offered tables at 6.30 and 9pm before being given what we'd like.
We got there and it was reasonably busy but not full. It drives me MAD too!!!!

it is really annoying and stupid isn't it...friend went to jbh for christmas day, they had a table for 20 booked and wanted to add 4 more, were told this wasn't possible until the day before when they got a call saying it would be fine after all...and apparently, the place was no where near full...

We had it with a dubai hotel last year too, when we tried to book a room at the last minute. More fool them, in the current climate!
