Have I missed something in the latest political correctness drive at the BBC?
Since when did "homosexual men" or "gay men" cease to be appropriate terminology?

Men who have sex with men?

It seems they also include bi-sexual men in that category?
As the legendary Alan Partridge so eloquently put it - " He plays for both sides - Manchester City AND Manchester United. "

Exactly. And there's plenty of one word descriptors around, so spoilt for choice really.

My gay mates in London are known collectively as 'the pooves'. Poof being the singular. They are quite happy about that.
Edit- it's not about being politically correct. That's still valid and relevant when usd properly, but this is just namby-pamby idiocy from those types who deliberately seek out offence where there is none.

Moving on to the 'other team' - Alan Partridge's expressions for Lesbians were superb. All done 'very sensitively and very thoughtfully' when he asked two lady lesbians if these slang names hurt?
Lesbos, Les-be-friends, Dykes, Dick Van Dykes, Spare Rib Ticklers, Cat Flaps, Pussy Footers, Knicker Pickers, Men, Backpackers, Tent Peggers, Trout Fishers, Melon Farmers, KwikFit Fitters, Baggage Handlers, Left Luggage.
He later in the interview admitted to making most of them up. Brilliant episode.

My best gay friends at home are a couple and simply referred to as the gayboys. However my dad refers to them as 'the queers', to which he gets a slap every time! Didnt help they came to my leaving do dressed as Viviene Westwood and Boy George- my dad was uncomfortable the entire day and my brother had his back fixed to the wall ( as if theyd go near him! they are far too picky for that).
So why do all straight men seem to assume all gay men are going to have a crack at them?
