1 in 3 seems rather high.
I must say i have ever only known one person who had an abortion, she regretted it the rest of her life, even though she went on to have 2 more kids at a later stage.
Me personally, no, maybe catholic background, not sure, just think it would haunt you, the what ifs etc.

Don't think this is entirely true, if at all. Have good friends who live in the West Midlands, who 2 years ago adopted a 4 year old from East London, complete with cockernee accent.
A very good friend of mine has just been rejected (7 months ago) for having a BMI of 29 and was told she was in a high risk group of having weight related health issues caused by her obesity, even though she lives a generally healthy lifestyle has everything a child could want for but is a bit overweight-(so not only rejected but also told shes a fat heifer- makes to being a shite day). Anyway lets hope that I'm wrong so more people can have the families they are so desperate for

Perhaps I'm wrong- it wouldn't be the first time, I only know from my friends who have had this experience, all in Essex, all rejected for petty little reasons, all heart broken, however its not first hand experience as in its not happened to me, I guess if you want kids enough its worth trying anyway!

I used to think I would like to adopt when my 3 were older, but now my eldest has turned 15 I'm thinking of putting her up for adoption.

The statistic is nonsense (far too high) but I have no idea what the exact figure might be........
......... but we can find out easily enough:
The medical authorities publish statistics like that, but many years later. All we need is the number in one particular year, then work out what population is female and of child-bearing age (say 14 to 45?). Regression analysis, plus standard deviations......... no problem (if you have a couple of weekends to do the homework).
Now then............ the next debate: I'm not anti-abortion per se, I just don't approve of it after, say, ten weeks (when evidence is overwhelmingly clear that the foetus can feel pain, etc).

Regarding your questions, as I told earlier, I don't need to answer them. Better ask them when I do what you imposed !

If you don't believe you are sounding ridiculous it is your fault, the fact is that you are.
Nothing factual here, just your perception which, by other posts, leaves you very much open to critique.
If I drag somebody's mind towards my interests then your comments are applicable (and your questions also). The girl is happy to answer, I am happy to ask, so you have got no reason to question.
You didn't ask a girl, you posted on a public forum and, at the time of my response, got one answer from the very many women who post here.
Regarding your questions, as I told earlier, I don't need to answer them.
Yes, as I suspected; avoidance. I ask questions which you refuse to answer. Possibly because to do so would jeapordise your position. Better ask them when I do what you imposed !

I wasn't referring to my second question regarding abortion, yes, I did ask that openly but your 'assumption' that it had anything to do with my fantasy was and still is 'ridiculous'.
Hypocrite? If you see that one is open to discussion and you merely ask (her) an open question, doesn't make you a hypocrite. Your irrelevant questions can easily be answered, but I really don't want to, I mean why should I answer them when you didn't ask me politely? Your ridiculous assumption is forcing me not to even think about it.

your constant use of the above is annoying, please stop ...........

Re: 1 in 3 British Women Will HaveAn Abortion In Their Lifetime....??
I know a lady who was so anti-abortion but went through the process as the foetus/child was a product of a very violent rape by a relative. She didn't report it to the police which made us all a bit angry but her decision. She never recovered from the double whammy of being raped and then the abortion. She regretted terminating the pregnancy even though the rapist was so closely related by consanguinuity that the child ran risks of being mentally infirm and of course would look such a clone.
She ended up a sad junkie and o.d'd in the end.
I am still glad the choice is there for women to decide though.
Personally I have never had to make that choice, for the record.

Of course I'm not saying ban abortions but I do think the current attitude is too liberal, as much as I empathise with your friend, it wouldn't have been the end of the world if they had gone ahead with the pregnancy, you are most fertile just after delivering so extra precautions should be taken if you don't want another one on the way

Based on women I know I would say that is easily a correct figure, and that's just women I know well enough that they would tell me.
