True enough.

Maybe he saved lots and then lost it all in a messy divorce...or "invested" it on a dodgy 'property' and thus lost it all... :-)

There used to be a charity called BCAF, which stands for something like British Citizens Abroad Fund and it raises (raised?) funds for British Citizens who had 'got them selves into diffiuclty through no fault of their own' - the phrase in quotes being a condition to help. Maybe they could help ?
