I`ve had a read about the background of Warhammer and as expected it has the Tolkien influence but what is interesting about it, it is also influenced by renaissance Germany which is a very interesting part of history.

Yes I like that setting, and the strategy element is really good. The later games are set in the year 40,000 and are shooters, OK but not so interesting.

Its one of these things that I`ve now made a point of looking/getting into when I have a bit more time in the future.

To be honest, a lot of futuristic stuff doesn`t hold the same appeal as older stuff.

I like snarks in Half Life, but the best laugh was throwing a couple of 'speculator' bomb satchels around, then just blowing them up at random points in the game. Used to really well in the Rampage set.

If you like shoot-em-ups the Call of Duty games are highly recommended, they are mostly WWII sceanrios that involve campaigns in western Europe, Russia, north Africa and Asia. I especially like the French campaigns where you attack a sleepy looking village (in the pouring rain) but well hidden inside the village, are a company of German diehards that fight to the last man.
