The sense of humour is a major part of what makes Britain Great, the ability to laugh at ourselves and not take ourselves seriously.

What made Britain Great was the Empire and that has gone like snow in the Spring. Well, London still has Gibraltar, the Falkland Islands and Dependencies, Tristan da Cunha, St Helena and British Antarctic Territory. Has London signed away tutelage over Diego Garcia ?

I disagree. I think the Empire was just a by-product of Britain's greatness, rather than what actually made her great.

Absolutely right, Britain would still have been Great regardless of the Empire and is still Great without it. I think for some that really sticks in the craw.

I know it may sounds a bit silly, but I would say that what makes Britain great are the Britons as you Guys are the ones who makes it such a special and unique place

Just the Britons? What about the Anglo-Saxons, Normans, Vikings, Celts and Romans? I'm sure I have left a few out

... such as the recent Asian, Afro-Caribbean and European influx of immigrants.

Point of order. The Britons (also known as Brythons) were a Celtic people group. Therefore you should either remove the subsequent Celts or, better still, say other Celtic groups (or similar).
