GDP itself gives a much better idea of the overall situation though. GDP per Capita is really distorting. You get small countries with dubious (or different) financial practices that get close to the top due to their heavy cash flows through their systems... In the top 20 at the moment we have Bermuda, Luxembourg, Cayman Islands, Jersey & Guernsey.

not that it maters much ,as it makes no difference to the way I feel about thing's and it certanly isn't the final straw for me

Well all this is over my head. All I know is I'm worse off here than in the UK. At home I could holiday in the best hotels and eat in the best restaurants - here I can't even pay the flippin phone bill.
