Very pleasantly surprised.

I don't know why anyone would be surprised about how good life is in the UK for people who are lucky enough to have fairly decent paid jobs. We have a great house, live in a really nice low crime area, close to two small towns, near the countryside, not far from a great city, lots to do, great pubs, not that I go in them much, cinemas, shopping centres, resteraunts, etc. Close to Europe for holidays, what more can you ask for?

Something I am very pleasantly surprised about is the lack of rubbish, dog poo and graffiti here, all things I was told were quite literally everywhere.

He's already answered the same question at least once before, that I've seen (not too long ago). Just another opportunity to bounce off an innocent question and have a go at him wanting to leave the UK as if it's a crime, IMO. The "mystery to me" is pretty disingenuous, if you read the last time he was asked to justify his decision. He's already explained his reasons, not that he needs to.
What is more "odd" to me is why anyone who has previously left the UK for Australia would question his motives for wanting to do the same thing.

Exactly! I moved to Germany with a friend when I was in my early 20s - had a wonderful time.

Cheers for that, I would have thought lots of people have a good life like us, surely you don't have to be miserable to look at emigrating? The wife's cousins are nurses in Perth and love it there, we have seen the life they have there, it's fantastic, we have a great life here, but life's about experiencing different things, new adventures, etc, etc.

I guess you have to read some of his other posts to understand what I mean but I wish him well wherever he ends up.

You obviously "wish him well" ... I don't understand why you can't just enjoy your happy life in the UK and provide constructive advice instead of being so disruptive.

PitBull, I think to most of us reading this thread it is VERY CLEAR you love England and that you want to broaden your horizons and explore other parts of the world. I for one wish you well. As for the continual put downs from one particular individual you have handled it remarkably well. Enjoy your journeys wherever they take you.
