Generally Meaning and Definition
In general; commonly; extensively, though not universally; most frequently.
At what point did i say everyone, i know many people living abroad due to many reasons family, work etc... They are happy but they don't moan about the UK
Maybe you're one of them too, But going by your response who knows
My point is when living abroad i found a lot expats living a lie telling you how great life and the country is, But there struggling financially or to find work and the thought of coming back to the UK is horrible as your dream was to live in XYZ So for many its easier to make excuses as to why the UK is bad as you still want that dream

Isn't there a strong contradiction in your statement.....
To clarify, if you replace the word 'abroad' with 'in England' in the above you'll see my confusion. Nothing wrong with being happy, or expressing ones happiness, unless of course one is 'living a lie and telling you how great life and the country is' , to quote a statement from "b121", which you supported.

I'm easily confused.

Its great that people come on here and talk about how happy they are in their chosen country or in the UK, but the people who then go on to aggressively attact another country (not just state logical facts), appear to be justifiying their choice of country.

I understand what you are saying b121 and Sally, I think the word aggressively is the main point.

You've just summed up a lot of expats who are still, L.T.D. (Living The Dream, an expression as juvenile as the person whom I once worked with who felt the need to initialise it in common speech !)
Before we emigrated, sorry, relocated I learned to beware of the, 'fantastic expats'. By that I mean that everything, everyday since they touched down on arrival has been fantastic. Plus years later it's still fantastic, in fact, it never stops being fantastic. Oh gimme strength !

Absolutely spot on, we have come across a few in person and many more than a few on these forums. They can't bring themselves to see even the slightest problem in Australia or should I say admit to it. The worst ones are those who love to post bad news stories about the country they have left behind and won't concede even the slightest similar situation might exist in their new country.

Don't mistake my tongue in cheek replies to godzoners for what I really think. I am well aware of the issues in the Uk that equally affect the rest of the world. Many in Australia genuinely refuse to see what is right in front of them. I don't think I have seen anyone return to the Uk oblivious to the problems.

Everywhere has its problems i think we get bored too
i lived in the same area for 28 years so Spain, Australia anywhere was amazing because it was different, every time i go on holiday i don't want to come home
But like i have said in other posts visiting friends in countryside i love to because its different its a change from the norm
I just get bored easily
We are all looking for a better life
We are all looking for security
We are all looking for safe place to bring up kids
One thing to think about, Ever met a Australian, American, Canadian or whatever in the UK and got chatting
They usually love the UK and would love to live here whilst you think really
But when you say i would love to move to Canada or where ever there from there reply is usually the same really why?
They have lived there for most there life and UK or London is new, amazing and different to them
I have friends to do with work in Canada, Australia, Argentina, Costa Rica, America, Spain, Italy, Russia guess what nearly all them looking for somewhere else abroad to move too
they where born in these countries and lived there most there lives and are bored of there home countries
Don't get me wrong i am not against moving abroad i work online so could go anywhere i liked and i dream daily about living near the beach somewhere hot
just if i was to go abroad again its not something i would rush into, in a ideal world having a place abroad and in the UK would be best and just bounce between the two
