Well I won't reply to any of your posts in here. You are officially on ignore in a couple of mins. I have moved back to the UK twice in the past 10 years and can (and have on occasion) offer useful advice.

i live in a small village just outside ashford in kent...it takes me 15 mins to get to the euro tunnel and 6 mins to get to town for shopping.
i am surrounded by fields, back onto fields and woodland fantastic for dog lovers walkers and just for the views and serenety.
i AM SELLING AND MOVING TO SPAIN FOR MY HEALTH..

i live in Bethersden kent...have alook at google earth...
i lived in london, north and smaller towns in north kent.but i feel safe here and its peaceful and calm..come and have a look.i will even put you up for a couple of days/./4

Why if its an expats website do we get people in the UK banging on about how life in blighty is so good - are we really interested in peoples views back home in the UK when we have chosen to continue living overseas... I think it's just that THIS PART of BE is about people wanting to move back to the UK after they've left it; so you are bound to get posts a little rose tinted if that's what one wants to call it, that are also going to be anti the place that person currently resides.....

Yes it is. My guess would be it's because of arthritis or maybe a breathing difficulty...either way a condition that's worsened by damp, cold weather.

I live in a lovely village in Lancashire NB - absolutely beautiful. The people are great. It's so peaceful and quiet. The only annoyance around here is the pesky cockerel that wakes us up at 5 am during the spring & summer. The walks and scenery around here are fantastic - I wouldn't swap it for anything. Perfect for me and my family

Louise, people read the "Daily Mail" to much over here, I walk all over the UK on my days off and the small villages and the countryside are so beautiful and quiet, the media has a lot to do with the FALSE negative attitude with thick people who belive all they read and hear, that pesky cockerel reminds me of a person on this forum

What a well trained cockerel! We have a Koel who takes a break between midnight and 1.30am on good days, otherwise he whistles his head off from October to March in our neighbourhood. Add to him a flock of cockatoos with an apalling sense of timing and somehow a cockerel sounds like a pretty good deal. Your place sounds super!
