But yes there are a few Aussies who keep both eyes open.
It really depends on where you go, I would have thought?

In the cities, I'm surprised you would cop any grief about being from overseas. My circle of friends loves talking to foreigners - we enjoy getting an external perspective on things (and some of my friends are born overseas anyway).

Perhaps it is a generational issue? (I'm on the edge of GenX/GenY).

The "everything is best in Australia" crew tend to have not been out of the country anyway. Hard to say something is the best when you have nothing to compare to.

Oooh that was nasty. My kids don't hate me either. They just don't like it because I wouldn't take my ex husband back or loan them money.

Now deadpan, you know how they have sperm banks? Well, have you thought of visiting a brain cell bank???

And you know what?? Until I can get back home to England, I've made it an occupational ambition to give as many Australian men the same hard time that I've had since I moved here because you know what? With the exclusion of a few, most of you deserve a dose of your own treatment.

Let's see those brain cells of yours gets some real exercise. Hey and no cheating, you can't ask a friend. Bring it on cowboy.

That was absolutely uncalled for deadcat. In fact I don't think I've ever seen anything quite so low on these boards before.

Wow, that's really mature!

Your ex husband treated you badly, so you feel the need to take it out on almost every Australian man you come across.

It seems to me that with an attitude like that, you got exactly the treatment that you deserved.

And that's something else you aussies lack. A sense of humour and you're rotten sports.

You're only idea of 'roots' is who you bonked the night before and yes, I am definately staying a while longer because I am having such a bloody good laugh that you are taking this all so seriously.

I get the impression you have just met a lot of bogans (same as your "chavs") ?

Still, it still seems a bit rough to tar us all with the same brush. My brother in law is english, and he's a complete wanker... but I don't use him as an example to say all English people are wankers.
LOL as you would know, Canberra isnt really noted for its bogan element - most of the Aus males I have met have been high functioning up themselves senior and wannabee senior public servants actually along with sundry others I have met as clients or the parents of clients. Quite a broad brush actually. DH and his brothers are from rural Victoria and we spend quite a bit of time down there too so information drawn from a wide range of subject matter!

I think you really are a little bit out of your depth with this one.

Whoops lets all cool off a little, we need some constructive comments about going back to the UK, lets not resort to name calling like children or Aussies do ?
(Sorry but Aussies do like to call everyone names don't they)
I'm just keeping a stiff upper lip until the house sells then back to good old Blighty, tally ho for now !!
