My experience is that I'm not shocked they've changed because I don't actually recognise them at all. A few years ago I failed to pick my first husband out of a group photo. The fact that men of my generation usually had long hair in their youth, and were frequently bearded, doesn't help.

I'm not actually shocked. It was a lighthearted comment.

But sometimes, people can have experiences and perceptions totally different from yours. It's not that hard to imagine it if you try
