How many cars have you owned?
Further to the 'how many house moves have you made' I started thinking about the number of cars I have owned.
I had one period in the 80's where I seemed to be always changing my car. I like cars a lot and liked to experience driving different types. I am sure I have probably not remembered them all but here goes (generally in chronological order:
Wolseley 1300 TC (nice and sporty drive with a twin carb. Eventually rotted to pieces)
Nissan Cherry x 2
Vauxhall Cavalier x 4 (3 of them SRi - Like sporty drives)
Volvo 244 estate (boring to drive but very reliable and practicable - expensive to run)
Mini x 2 (felt very unsafe)
Beetle x 2 Great fun in the summer, freezing in the winter. Beetle owners always wave to each other. Nice when you keep getting young ladies waving at you!
Escort XR3i (very unreliable)
Golf GTi (nicest car to drive at the time)
BMW 3 series (so comfortable. Cost me about £2k, but I spent about £1500 on it in the first year. Didn't last long)
Escort Ghia (nice but had a problem in that it always smelt damp)
Honda Concerto (old man's car)
Honda Civic x 3 (1 x 5 door, 1 x 3 door, 1 x estate - current UK car)
In addition overseas.
Nissan Patrol
Jeep Wrangler
Chevvy Trailblazer
Jeep Cherokee (current car)
I used to like classic cars and plan to buy one as a second car when I come back, just something siimple like a morris minor or another beetle.
I make that 24 cars total in the 32 years I have been driving. That makes a different car every 16 months.
I think if I won the lottery I would buy a whole shedfull of different cars.
Am I obsessed!

Re: How many cars have you owned?
Not as obsessed as my husband
We have been together 12 years, I never knew so many cars existed I will see if I can remember most of them, ages of them will be hit and miss - see if you can figure out when OH came on the scene. I hate to think how many cars he has really bought since he was 17.
Motorbikes
Yamaha Fizzy
Yamaha TZR
Yamaha RD350
Nissan Sunny
Fiesta
Micra
BMW 325i convertable
Mustang 5:0l Convertable x 2 (different years)
Camaro
' 65 Mustang convertable
Mustang x2
Pontiac Firebird x3
Astro Van
Day van
Torino
Starsky and Hutch Torino
Oh another mustang
Rolls Royce
Triumph Spitfire
Peugeot
Rover(s)
Porsche
Mini Minor
55 Chevy
Dodge challenger
Orion and a few more 'standard' cars in between the others.
Ford Capri x2
Dodge Dakota
an escort here and there...
Then we moved in 2005 to Alberta
Motorbikes
GSXR 750
Yamaha RD 400 still got
Explorer (we owned this one twice)
F150
Camaro x2
Torino x 7 - still got 3
Expedition x 2
Jeep x 4 - different models
Navigator
Camaro x2
Cougar
Consul
'56 chevy wagon
Firebird x2 - still got one
Rolls Royce Silver shadow x2, still got one
Spitfire still got
Jag - still got
Freelander - still got
Range Rover x2
Dodge Durango
Dodge Dakota
Funny little truck can't think of the name - still got
hotrod project buried in the garage
Ford sportrac still got
Bronco x2
Mustang
Ford Ranger
There are probably more here as well - Oh a PT cruiser can go on the list. Some cars are just bought as a project and then sold on with nothing being done - the funny little truck I think will be one of those - he's switched the wheels over. Some cars we just don't like - Bronco and Durango come to mind, some cars we put miles on and then sell before the mileage gets unsellable, some cars are bought because OH says 'I've never had one of those' - Jag.
We spend a small fortune every year on switching plates and insurance and parts but he could be in the pub spending a small fortune instead, at least I can keep him company while he's tinkering around.
There is a reason I don't want an acreage

Re: How many cars have you owned?
14 cars.Mostly hatchbacks, couldn't care at all about cars.
27 motorbikes, a mix of road sport and race specific bikes ( proper race bikes, none of that track day pansy stuff).
5 road cycles, two time trial bikes, and currently have 5 different sets of cycle race wheels.

Re: How many cars have you owned?
When I was a child, our whole family would often go on a Sunday to watch Motocross or stock car racing in Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire which still mystifies me because it seems to me the most unlikely thing that either of my parents would want to do. At that time the only protection they wore was a leather rib brace, so there were often some nasty accidents.
