I quite agree, Linda. Go for the peace and nature and the beautiful views. When you have that, the rest is easy.

I am going to look at Devon, Somerset and Wales. My family originates from all three places and I have been watching quite a bit of all three on BBC's Escape to the Country. That show not only shows you the homes but the beautiful countryside and villages. It's wonderful.

I really must get the BBC Iplayer. How did you do that?

I'm on my way  Started my journey yesterday from where I lived, spending the day in Thunder Bay with my family and on to Toronto this afternoon where I'll spend the night with an old friend I haven't seen in over 10 years. Boy do we have some catching up to do!

I'm leaving Canada on Thursday departing Toronto Air Transat Flt. TS824E (Thos. Cook TCX215) at 4:10 pm arriving London Gatwick 4:40 am Fri. April 1 ... I CAN'T WAIT::D:thumbsup:

Well my Dad goes back after 28 and a half years tomorrow, don't know the flight number but 8.30 pm from Bangkok on Etihad Airways to somewhere in the Gulf then Heathrow - I'll be going for a visit later in the year and in the meantime I keep hoping for a redundancy from the Government :)

Beedubya - so glad you made it back and am enjoying hearing your updates ;)

I came on Etihad too, so your dad will be stopping in Abu Dhabi.

Thanks Moonsurfer, just slowly getting back into it and am now seriously job hunting as I kept changing my mind about where I was going to live/work.

Sounds like the process is beginning! Give him chance at least to find somewhere so you can doss down with him for a little while.

Let us hope that the VR packages are on offer soon. I am thinking of packing it all in too today - might feel different tomorrow but retirement is sounding really good right now!

Yes, boredom:eek: It's why I work having retired once already but I am getting too old for it now, I just want to curl up under the doona and hope that it all goes away!

Curly tops, I missed tracking you (that's the problem with being on the other side of the world) so welcome home! You should be there by now!!!
