My wife and I spent an enjoyable three years in what was then The New Hebrides (now Vanuatu) in the '70s; that's a long time ago, but it might be worth checking out some of the islands there, if you've got the patience. There are Fijian islands nearby, too. There's somebody who posted here on another BE thread, from one of them. But all things considered I think you're going to have to up sticks from where you are, and just wander around a bit, And why not? It's a good way to fill in your retirement time! That would be St. Nikola island off Budva with a beach with the unlikely name of Hawaii Beach. Not exactly the Caribbean but very nice just the same. The best islands are in Croatia which are well worth a visit if you get chance. Most of them were part of Venice in the days when Venice was a city state.
