Default J-1 - H-1 Stamping - please suggest

Hello

I am looking forward for valuable suggestions regarding visa stamping.

I originally came on J-1 visa and then converted to H-1 B. Now, I got my H-1 B papers which are till 2007.

Now my question is :

1. Is going to Canada a good option for stamping?.

2. I got all my degrees including my Ph.D from India, and I work at University. Does that matter?

3. Folks who got stamping in similar situations, may please post their experience.

Thanking you in advance.

You would be much better off asking this question in the US Immigration forum, but the short answer is that Canadian consular officers are unlikely to allow you to get a new visa there, because of the rampant level of fraud with Indian degree certificates (they can't tell whether the certificate is genuine). Unfortunately, you will almost certainly have to go to India to get a new visa.
