One short answer, yes
Get it at the Post Office, costs about Eur 150 (about £100) for a year.
And I need to renew mine!

Under the current Wireless Telegraphy Legislation it is a prosecutable offence to be found in possession of an unlicensed television set. Fines for an unlicensed television set can be up to €635 for a first offence. There are a number of ways to buy or renew a licence so you can choose which of them suits you best.

They are stamping down on people who don't have licenses now.
There are many businesses who have TVs in the workplace for watching training videos etc, but who don't have a license, because they think they don't need one.
