Default Freedom of Movement

Hi every one!
I just have a quick question

Myself who is a British Citizen and my Wife an American citizen wish
to relocate to Ireland using the Freedom of Movement act.

To eventually buy a Irish property and settle down.
But seeing as the job market isnt to good is it possible for me to keep my job
in the UK self employed?
(Taxi driver )
Until I can find work and she can be given her residence permit?
Or do I have to physically work there in I.E for her to qualify?

Thankyou

Sorry, but this keeps coming up that the job market isn't good. I don't know where people read or hear it, but a lot of positions remain unfilled. In my department we have foreigners moving over, because we don't have Irish applicants.

Hi,
thanks for your reply,
its just I do earn good money in the UK and would take me a while to set up.
If it comes to it I will do anything In I.E.
But would be great to keep working in the UK earning good money until
Ive got set up over there.
