Default Electrical appliances

We are planning to move to Ireland in a couple of months and wondered if it is cheaper to buy electrical items there or here in the UK? Thanks!

Always depends and you might be better off buying in Ireland with the exchange rate, depending on price. Certain products might be cheaper in the UK, but you can always negotiate and get for the UK price in certain stores. Example fridge on UK website £1,249.99
Buy SAMSUNG RSG5UUMH American-Style Fridge Freezer - Manhattan Silver | Free Delivery | Currys

On Irish website €1,599.99 which would now be £1,151.40

SAMSUNG RSG5UUMH American-Style Fridge Freezer - Manhattan Silver

Then TV cheaper to buy in UK £599.00
Buy SONY BRAVIA KDL50W829BBU Smart 3D 50" LED TV | Free Delivery | Currys

In Euros €849.00 which would be £610.71

If you're moving to Ireland it might also be better to buy locally, just in case anything goes wrong (warranty etc.).

If you are towards the north of Ireland, you could always cross the border into Northern Ireland and go to Currys/Argos etc. This may prove better value if you are still maintaining a bank account in the UK as you could swipe your UK debit card etc. This obviously depends on where you are going to be living.

Don't forget that once it has left the UK, the warranty is nul and void.
