Let me put this out to all of you comedians out there.
If you got nothing remotely intelligent to share - just dont share it
all.
Now that we got THAT our of the way, lets move on.

I've tried both over the years and the belt wallet is far superior to
the neck pouch. Do you really want to walk round like a dork with a
pouch dangling round your neck. Your body language will betray you as
you slump forward trying to conceal the bump.
Failing a belt wallet, a good solution are the trousers (pants to you
colonials) made by Patagonia. Buitin zipper wallet inside the waistband,
and recommendable anyway as being totally indestructible, uncreaseable,
and wash-and-wearable.
Any kind of security wallet by definition is awkward to access. Just
carry your essential minimum needs in an outside pocket and your
valuable stuff in the hidden wallet. Also, keep your essential stuff in
the left hand trouser pocket, or in a right hand inside jacket pocket.
Pickpockets know that most people are right handed and go for the
pockets that RH people use.
Finally, why post this question in rte anyway? Europe is totally safe
(apart from London and Lisbon).

You'll have to stay around for a few years before you can criticise the group - capisci?!

I use the type of belt wallet which has a loop that goes over the belt. The
wallet itself is tucked inside your trousers. Mine is made of leather; I also
have one made of fabric. Neither is an impediment to bending or sitting.
And I've never had the slightest problem in Paris, where we visit every year.
Big cities in Italy, though (especially Milano), are another matter entirely.

Excellent advice. Take it. But, of course, you can't, can

Clearly you don't carry enough money. A large wad of cash does not
flex too easily.

I would never carry sufficient cash to have that problem -
in any land. That would be silly security anywhere I know.
That's what cc's and ATM's are for.

Unless you go to somewhere like Indonesia, where exchanging $100 US
gets you a literal mound of local bills.
