That sounds a bit far fetched to me. How could they establish he was
drunk just from his purchasing habits, and that he fell because of
this?

Yes, all in three or four years and then never any more since.

The local police can hardly be described as shit hot. I think every corner house
in our street was burgled several times.

They caught one bunch of kids with some of the stuff that we had had stolen
about 3 months after they stole it. The police phoned to ask if we wanted the
kids to be prosecuted. Since trials are rarely reported in NL we never found out
if they were.

I won't, apparently. I just answered the phone to Adrian, from "cool
mobiles". I told him to **** off, and hung up. Yes, it _is_ his fault
for working for a company based abroad that cold calls people on the TPS
register.

I meant the old wind-up phones, not a "cool mobile" ;-)

My mobile phone operates in pounds, shillings and pence.

Yesterday, I answered the phone to a screaming distorted near incoherent mobile
phone woman, who said she had been waiting for me to deliver firewood all day.
She wanted to know if I had any intention of visiting her today. After careful
thought, I told her "NO!" and put the phone down.

I miss the calls from the woman with the sick pussy, who thought I was the vet.

LOL! I bet you felt really smug after that, for actually thinking of
something great to say when it happened, and not 1/2 an hour later. :-)

I probably saved her waiting for the rest of the day for a man, who had no
intention of turning up.

Nope, this case got lots of publicity when it happened...

The cards *do* push up prices, and often very considerably (surveys,
etc. have been done in both the US and the UK documenting such).

It's a shell game basically...
