It's Miasma's nice legs?

OK

Not easily. Is there some reason why I must or should?

Yes, in general. That doesn't mean that I specifically care whether you
learn or not.

No.

Yes. They make no logical sense so there is no reason to resort to them
otherwise.

Visit Notre-Dame at the end of a hot month. I observed this in 2003.

It only feels cool because the nighttime temperature is much lower.
When it's hot 24 hours a day, the building will rapidly warm and
eventually it will be just as hot inside as it is outside. The
temperature will always be higher than the lowest daily temperatures
encountered in any case, so if the lowest daily temperature is 36° C,
the cathedral will rapidly rise to 36° C inside.

Terry Richards writes:

It is during hot weather. This was one of the characteristics of the
European heat wave of 2003. The temperature did not drop significantly
at night, and everything heated up, cathedrals included.

But if it never gets cooler outside, this doesn't work.

The rise in external temperature.

It's not T2, it's T3, where T2 > T3 > T1.

I have, and after a series of hot days and nights, it gets very warm
inside cathedrals.

The same problem exists. If the outside temperature is conistently
high, the houses will become hot, underground or not.

Passive methods like this only slow the changes in home temperature in
reponse to changes in exterior temperatures, but homes will always
approach mean temperatures over time, and when the mean temperature is
high, the homes will become hot without active cooling.

Indeed, which contradicts your earlier assertion.

I dont think there are any plans to move Notre Dame
to an equatorial location any time soon.

The good people of Coober Pedy will tell you in good Strine
that you are full of shit.

You see they live in just such houses which remain cool
despite summertime temperatures which rise into the 50's

Right now its the middle of winter and only 10 C yet
the homes stay at a comfortable 25C all year round without
AC or heating
